Warning regarding imitation batteries...

Our technical department routinely receives calls and returned systems from Intelli-mix users having problems with their remote control after purchasing and using imitation batteries. In many cases, these customers do not realise that the batteries they have purchased are not genuine. That is partly because these imitations mimic our part numbers - but only genuine batteries can legally carry the Autec logo.
These imitation batteries have caused a lot of down-time, and in some cases, caused serious damage to systems, Among the problems we have seen are:

Bad internal connections. Genuine batteries are assembled with high precision by state-of-the-art robotics. Imitation batteries often break internal connections the first time they are dropped. This can stop the remote from working, or more commonly, cause it to drop out randomly
Dangerously poor tolerances. Genuine batteries are assembled with very precise tolerances - and this is relied on by the remote controls for proper connection. Imitation batteries don’t make proper connections in the remote and/or the charger leading to the systems dropping out or not working at all. Some imitation batteries can actually be inserted upside-down into the remote control - which is obviously not possible with genuine types - and that is a sure way to destroy your remote control !
Low-quality components. Genuine batteries are assembled with cells from the world’s premier manufacturers. Imitations typically use low-quality cells that degrade much faster, causing down-time and requiring replacement much more often.
